Pomona Chamber of Commerce 124th Annual Awards & Officer Installation!

Pomona, Ca– On June 28th Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Eta Omega Chapter celebrated with the Pomona Chamber of Commerce the 124th Annual Awards and Installation of Officers dinner at the Sheraton Conference Center in Pomona. Pomona Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Keating and Pomona Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Frank Garcia welcomed the guests and hosted the evening. During the installation of 2012-2013 Board of Directors, Jillian Reiff passed the gavel to re-elected president Jeff Keating and the board members were installed.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Eta Omega Chapter President Juanita Dawson presented the prestigious Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Initiative Community Service Award to Jillian Reiff for her valuable service and commitment toward the promotion and encouragement of environmental protection through the development of community forums and activities. Ms. Dawson stated that “Ms. Reiff and Valley Vista Services advocate legislative support of programs related to public health, safety, and environmental justice.”
Other awards presented during the celebration were Image Award to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Employer of the Year Award to The Dawson Company, Non-Profit Organization of the Year Award to Bright Prospect, Member of the Year Award to Roberto and Judy Flores of Casa De Salsa, New Business of the Year Awardo Cupcake Shack, and Community Service Award to John Forbing of State Farm.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Epsilon Eta Omega provides service to the residents of Pomona Valley and surrounding cities. They reach out and collaborate with the community to identify and address areas of concern locally, nationally and globally that align with the National Program initiatives: Emerging Young Leaders, Health, Economic Security, Global Poverty, Social Justice & Human Rights and Internal Leadership for External Service.
