Front Magic Johnson to Honor Students with Scholarships at Special Brunch Magic Johnson to Honor Students with Scholarships at Special Brunch Los Angeles, CA– The Magic Johnson Foundation will host its annual recognition of LA’s youth Leaders on Saturday, July 28, 2012.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson, the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF), 33 scholars who demonstrate high academic achievement and alumni of the Taylor Michael Scholarship Program (TMSP) will all attend.

Magic Johnson will be on hand at a FedEx-sponsored brunch to honor 33 scholars who earned the Magic Johnson Foundation’s Taylor Michaels Scholarship. The brunch caps the Foundation’s annual five day Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program (TMSP) Conference, which offers new and past scholars life skills leadership training and career development workshops. Founded in 1998, the Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program is aptly named after Taylor Michaels, the inspiring Chief Operating Officer for Magic Johnson Enterprises who passed away that year. The program develops future leaders by supporting socioeconomically challenged high achievers through completion of their undergraduate degrees and offers support including laptops, mentorships, and internships. TMSP alumni have gone on to graduate from top universities including Howard, Morehouse, Brown, USC and UCLA, among others.

Along with Magic Johnson, a representative from MJF and past scholarship honorees of the Taylor Michaels Scholarship will be available for interviews.

The event will take place at The Skirball Center, 2701 North Sepulveda Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90049 Saturday, July 28th at 10:00 AM
