SGV-NCNW joins SCE for Dream Center Community Service Event
Los Angeles, CA– Thirty four members of the San Gabriel Valley section of the National Council of Negro Women(SGV-NCNW) including their Young Legends youth section joined the Southern California Edison(SCE) team for its Dream Center Community Service event in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 30. Approximately 150 individuals participated in this community activity. SGV-NCNW volunteers were divided into two teams with one group visiting Skid Row, while the other group visited the Pueblo El Rio Public Housing Residence. During the visit, our team distributed food items and spent time talking to the residents. It was a meaningful opportunity to share with those in need of assistance.
SGV-NCNW is a community organization whose mission is to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities. The section is looking forward to more outreach, serving, and support opportunities in the community. The organization is offering a 10% discount on membership dues for new members joining during the months of August and September. A standing invitation is open to anyone who is willing to accept the challenge.
