Celebrating the 85th Birthday of Hazel M. Williams with Simple Elegance Wedding and Event Design

Rancho Cucamonga, CA– Birthday’s celebrations are wonderful events to get together with family and friends to honor special people. On Saturday evening, August 4, 2012 family, friends and community members came together to celebrate the life and legacy of Ms. Hazel M. Williams in grand style.

Affectionately called ‘Mother Williams’ or “Pastor Williams’ there was nothing but smiles, laughter, food and fun experienced during the entire evening. This extraordinary gala was coordinated by Simple Elegance Wedding and Event Design. This company is founded and operated by Myra Williams, the daughter of Mrs. Williams.

“Being able to celebrate my mother’s 85th birthday with her was ‘priceless’. I hear all the time how lucky or how blessed I am to still have my mother with me here to be able to celebrate her birthday whatever year she may be celebrating. I was very excited and overjoyed to be able to watch the look of happiness on my mother’s face as she watched family and friends come in to help celebrate her special day. To be able to show my mother how much she means to me, other than words and see her so deservingly happy is a memory that will forever be etched in my heart,” stated Myra.

A Masquerade party was chosen as the theme because Williams wanted to celebrate in a way that her mother would never think to do. Mrs. Williams has always been one to put other people’s needs ahead of hers. Myra wanted to make sure it was a birthday party that she had never had before and make sure it was one she and all that attended would remember. Myra wanted to give her the opportunity to step out of her box of everyday ‘humdrum’ and make her 85th a fun experience she can cherish.

Some of the positive comments that were said about the event were that many were really pleased that Myra took out the time to show her mother just how special and loved she is. Everyone loved the decorations that were created by the Simple Elegance Wedding and Event Design staff and expressed how they loved how the whole theme tied together with the decorations and the Roaring 20’s Masquerade Gala theme. Each centerpiece was styled a little different to give character to each piece. They also loved how well The Roger Harrison Jazz Band played music from that era and raved about their style in keeping with the theme and maintaining the crowd’s attention with their musical talents.

When asked what Myra enjoys about her business she states, “The thing that I enjoy most about my business is being able to bring my clients dreams to life. Sitting down and talking to my clients and having them explain what they desire for their event and then watching their eyes as it unfolds on the day of the event is the best, most fulfilling thing I could imagine with being an event planner. I enjoy taking bits and pieces of a vision and putting the whole puzzle together to tell the true story of the vision that my client had for their day whether it be a wedding, an anniversary or a theme party. I don’t consider the event planning business my job. I consider it my forte.”

Myra never really thought about being in business for herself when she thought about ‘owning’ her own business, however, she knew she wanted to create things and create beautiful things. The thought of owning her own business came to her later when people around her kept telling her that she should be an event planner. She was creating events at first just because she loved it, then thinking on what was repeatedly said to her it just made sense to create events as a career.
