The Inland Valley News Inc., is thrilled to present its 12th Annual Celebration of Excellence Awards Black-Tie Dinner & Gala which will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 7 p.m. at the Avalon Ballroom at The Fairplex in Pomona, California. This year’s theme is “Community Celebrating Cultures”.
This event celebrates the achievements and contributions of people who help make their community the jewel of Southern California. We are expecting this event to sell out due to last year’s more than 400 registered guests and over twenty major sponsors participating.
The Recipients of the Publishers’ Awards are:
Paul Hudson (Broadway Federal Bank) – Publishers’ Choice Award; Myrlie Evers-Williams - Lifetime Achievement; Dr. Thelma Melendez (Pomona Unified School District) - Corporate Leadership; PADRES Contra El Cancer– Community Social Service Agency; Herb and Kay Hafif (The Hafif Family Foundation) – Corporate Community Service; Dr. Edwin Javius (EdEquity, Inc.) – Educational Administration; Dr. Henry Shannon- Post Secondary Education Dr. Kodjoe and Mrs. Salome Sumney (Mission Africa 2000, Inc.) –International Humanitarian; and Dr. Estella Cornwell Majozo- The Arts.
