Last Saturday, at an extravagant gala affair hosted by Inland Valley News at the historic Grove Theater in Upland, City Manager Lee McDougal was recognized with the Publisher’s Choice Award for Corporate Leadership. There were approximately 400 guests including Mayor Paul Eaton; Council Members Leonard Paulitz, Carolyn Raft, and Bill Ruh; and a number of City staff.
Awards are presented annually in various categories including the Publisher’s Choice Award, Lifetime Achievement, Humanitarianism, Student Advocacy and Support, Educational Administration, Corporate Leadership, and Corporate Community Service. The Inland Valley News presents its Corporate Leadership Award to a member of the business or public service sector who represents the ideals of community involvement and exceptional leadership practices in the corporate community. Lee was profiled in a video presentation of his career as Montclair City Manager.
Congratulations, Lee, on your extraordinary achievement.

I just wanted to express my thanks for the scholarship that you have given me. The opportunities that this extra money has opened up are limitless and my education will definitely benefit from your generosity. This money will, no doubt, be put to good use, I applied for a college scholarship and was able to be accepted for it, now, the money will be used for what it has always been intended for; my education.
Your generosity, hospitality, and kindness have made me feel so thankful to all of you. From the first moment I met Dr. Morrow and Ms. Guillermina Hall I had never felt so welcomed and appreciative of their efforts. It is so difficult for me to even say how much I honestly appreciate this and how much it will make a difference in my life.
I promise to stay in touch with all of you and let you know how my graduation and college life go and how I am spending this money. You all have become great friends of mine and are some of the most kind and caring people I have met.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

It was classy and enjoyable. You knew you were going to have a good time right from the start. I felt like I was with family even though some of us were meeting for the first time.
